Smart Design for healthy Trackmen

British Health and Safety Executive HSE nominates ROBEL grinding machine for „Risk-reduction through design” Award

How does a grinding machine need to look like if two persons want to unload, transport and use it in a spine-friendly way?

In cooperation with the ergonomics team of British Network Rail and their service partner Torrent Trackside, ROBEL developed the solution with its ROGRIND HF Head: One machine, two modules, each weighing less than 60 kg.

This new design approach has not only convinced Network Rail, but also the HSE committee: „Brilliant manual handling“ - „Easy to carry up and down stairs“, says the nomination sheet for the high frequency grinding machine.

For ROBEL head of Machines & Tools Otto Widlroither this is the confirmation that he’s on the right track: „Our incentive is to design machines that are user friendly, safe and durable. The HSE nomination shows us, that this motivation is well received by the rail operator.“
