How do you integrate a new loading system into the existing fleets of various network operators? In close cooperation with the Austrian construction company Swietelsky Baugesellschaft m. b. H., Robel modified the manipulator of its ROREXS Rail Exchange System for the application on transport units with different rail crane gauge. After the successful completion of the first field test, the rail loading unit consisting of chute wagon and rail manipulator is now in operation for Swietelsky in Austria.

For Matthias Schauer, construction manager of track construction machines at Swietelsky, the long-term partnership of the two companies is the basis for successful vehicle projects: „The cooperation and development of prototypes with Robel has proved its worth for over 40 years now, excellent service included. The new rail loading unit is another big step towards maximum flexibility and efficiency: with the different gauges we do not only serve our own train sets, but also those of ÖBB (Austrian Federal Railways) and DB (German Federal Railways) with one and the same loading system. We expect considerable savings in logistics.“

Robel is renowned expert for the rail loading process: For 60 years, the company has been engineering loading trains for network operators and rail service companies worldwide. The experience of countless operations on track contributes to each new vehicle concept and thus allows the development of customized solutions for specific client requirements.
